This complete gut renovation of a 28 apartment building brought many new challenges to the design team.  The building was vacant and widely vandalized upon acquisition.  The building was to be converted into new condominiums units with independent heat and hot water units.  It also had to meet new handicap building codes while keeping the construction cost in line with the marketing value of the neighborhood.  All of the interior and exterior areas of this building were renovated, including the addition of new duplex basement rooms added to the first floor apartments.
